Hi! I'm a Ph.D. student at the computer science department of the University of Pisa. The main topics I work on are Algorithms, data structures, and data compression. In my spare time, I’m an active member of the two local communities GDG and WTM Pisa, which organize free talks about different topics and technologies in the field of computer science. More than Incognito: server-side secret searches

Nowadays, privacy is a topic that comes up more and more often. Whenever you use a service or a platform, the provider typically knows exactly what you're doing and what you're interested in. But what if you don’t want the providers to know?

In this talk, we'll explore a different perspective on privacy, specifically, the scenario where you want to access data from a public database without revealing what you're looking for. We’ll discuss how this can be done, along with the advantages and disadvantages of the various solutions available to achieve this kind of privacy.
